CROSSLINKED CARBOXYMETHYL CELLULOSE HYDROGEL
Erelle ™
Erelle ™ is a Dermal Filler
containing cross-linked polymer derived from cellulose, completely
resorbable more effective over time compared to currently marketed
products.
Why a product based of Carboxymethyl-cellulose?
Carboxymethylcellulose is a biosintetic
product, non-animal and non-bacterial. The carbossimentilcellulosa
is already used in medicine for many years and is approved for such
use by the FDA.
The available literature shows that Carboxymethylcellulose is an extremely
safe and inert substance without the phenomena of carcinogenicity
or mutagenicity. Some studies show a bactericidal effect inside the
tissue, making it extremely safe for these uses.
Why not another product made from hyaluronic acid?
Products based on carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) are an innovative range
of injectable implants, increasingly used, because manageable and
secure as ialuronici acids but with a bulking effect more effective
and longer lasting in time. Crosslinking and the lack of specific
enzymes capable of degrade the molecule inside the human body, stabilizes
the polymer, giving it a longer life. The value of resistance to mechanical
deformation is better than the other products.
The CMC is a Hydrogel that at native state, has specific features
of viscosupplementation and drug delivery. These features have been
implemented over the last 50 years by the pharmaceutical companies
that use CMC as an excipient of high purity for injectable drugs (e.g.
Decadron) or as an agent of late (Drug Delivery) for the release of
active ingredients (e.g. in Nifedipine a drug antihypertensive).
The CMC is already capable of producing tissue augmentation. For this
reason some injectables in the market use CMC as carrier.
With the procedure devised by Bioitech the Crosslinking carboxymethyl
cellulose can be injected through thin needles, increasing exponentially
the filling performance compared to acid Ialuronici crosslinkati,
but keeping the same handling and usability. With the crosslinked
CMC were obtained durations as long term products, in total absence
of reactive fibrosis tissue, without adverse effects.
